Branko Starcevic is a portrait photographer based in Belgrade. His recognisable and refined style is characterised by smart lighting and minimalistic approach often inclining to hyper-realism, dramatically enhanced by restrained chiaroscuro palette.
As a passionate triathlon enthusiast, Starcevic is proficient and best known for capturing the most intriguing and difficult sequences in an athletes’ life, blurring the boundaries between sports excellence and art.
However, I will be taking inspiration from his project 'Dual', where he used photoshop and studio lights to create a layered effect within people. Applying the colour scale from blue to red creates a distorted effect for the viewer. This is what inspired me from my previous work, the ghost effect and having to really look at an image to understand it is exiting for me. As well asthis I like using colour effectively, and I have not been able to previously achieve this using grayscale.
